I never thought about it before someone once pointed otu to me that I had short stubby flinst-one toes-which led to many years of them being hidden in socks, yes socks, my toes did not enjoy the joy of flip flops till my later teen years, actually it may not have been until I was married that I ever owned a pair of flip flops that I actually wore. I use to wear sandals, but I will admit that I wore sandals with socks, I would even walk around barefoot only wearing socks, I went to school with only soocks on carrying my sandals in my hand--I do believe I am the reason my old high schools dress code now includes shoes as a requirment, before it just required clothes but the year after I accidently walked into a meeting of the principle and vice principle and a few other big wigs with bare feet and my sandals in hand that I noticed the new addition (granted when they commented about my shoes in hand I pointed out how it never said anythin about shoes in the dress code)
My toes are very unique and as much as I woulr love to have long skinny toes I did give my son his short stubby "flinstone toes" and for that I have to love mine because I do love his and when he is older and soemone points out ot him how short and stubby his flinstone toes are I want to be able to tell him just how perfect they are because they are his toes--which they are, but if I am always concerned about my toes how will he ever feel confident about his toes.
I have actually discovered that honestly if I paint my toes they don't bother me as much, but it has to be a bright contrasting color--like blue--and then they no longer look as short and stubby for some reason, in comparison I also find Dominic loves to paint his toenails blue, which I allow him to do (it isn't like he is painting them a girly color) unfortunately while he was going to school my husband was told not to paint his nails with nail polish and my husband was so delighted to come home and inform me that the school banned us from painting our son's nails--so I taught DOminic how to paint his own.
